A very unique passage, the book of what my Quebec friends would call the book of Geneesis, the first book of the Bible. And I really mean that, one of my good friends, he just got and saved and he gave me his testimony, and the very first page he read in the Word of God was the book of Geneesis. And he saw that what the Lord made, God saw that it was good.

Can you believe this? When he read the words and God said that it’s good, that is what motivated him to surrender his heart to Christ because nothing in his life was good. Isn’t it amazing a little sentence like that? I would have thought, oh, the Gospel of John, a visual, mental visual of the cross of Jesus’ Suffering.
It was … and God said it was good. And that motivated him to seek the one who saw good, and by the time he had sobered up. it was now five in the morning, he was baptized in the Holy Ghost and spake and tongues, didn’t even know what that was all about.

And as he emerged, he hadn’t slept a moment all night, and as he emerged from his house in the morning to go to work, he fell in love with the tree that he’d planted years ago in his front yard.

He said, if anybody had seen me embracing the tree and weeping, they would have thought, he’s gone cuckoo for sure. But he said, for the first time in my life, I saw things were good. He said, I saw things as God sees them. He said, I saw a tree that I planted. And he said, pastor, the tree …  it was some good!

So the book of Genesis chapter 15. After these things, the word of the Lord came unto Abraham in a vision saying, fear not, Abraham, I am your shield and you’re exceeding great reward, and Abraham said, Lord God, what will you give me seeing I go childless? And the steward of my house is Eliezer of Damascus, not even a Jewish man.

Abraham said, Behold, to me, you have given no seed and low one born in my house, my heir.

Behold, the word of the Lord came unto him.
