When you consider things that some of us go through, I had a call from my brother this week. You can be seated, please, be comfortable. My brother’s a retired pastor. He’s three years younger than me. That makes him 35. His whole family line from him onward.
His wife has been through an extreme challenge with her health in the last few years. His oldest daughter is in a wheelchair, stricken with some kind of a palsy. That lady’s daughter, so my brother’s granddaughter, turned 19 last week, but she has the mental capacity of a 13, 14-year-old.
My brother has a beautiful daughter. These are all wonderful Christian people. Beautiful daughter in Ottawa, who’s really living with a death threat over her life, and her daughter is in a descent because she’s very troubled with something else that’s just diabolical.
And then this week, my brother’s son-in-law whose wife is in a wheelchair, whose daughter is not well, has been given three months. I said to Don, how are you standing up? And in a word, he said, I’m standing up in Jesus. He said, I don’t have to understand these things.
I don’t have to. He said, things happen to people, and he said, it’s troubling, it’s hurtful, but he said, I’m walking. I’m trusting God.
We just sang a song, thankful for the things you brought me through. I visited Ron last week, last evening. I would say the majority of you don’t even know this.
This man’s been a real icon in this church. He’s been such a blessing to me, and for those of you know him, he’s just a jewel. He lost his wife.
It’s a year and a half ago now, I think, and he never recovered from that, really, and he’s not doing extremely well. I heard him speak words last night. That’s the first clear words I’ve heard him say in many, many months.
I’m encouraged by that, but I’m not totally encouraged. And I said, we’re praying for you, Ron, and he said, God’s helping me. So, like, three weeks ago, I wouldn’t have understood what he said.
It was just la-la-la, but he said, God’s helping me. I said, we’re praying for you. He said, you need to keep praying.
So, I’m encouraged with what I hear, but there needs to be more. And so, and then there’s a lovely lady, and I’m sorry I can’t remember her name. She’s been attending here recently, and she fell and broke her ankle.
Who knows her? Janelle, and she went through a very difficult process of recovering, but I think she’s on the victory side right now. And Art’s mama, Judy, made a commitment to Jesus only a few weeks ago, and she’s really physically challenged, and Art is physically challenged as well. And so, I’d like you to continue to pray for Art.
This is a new walk for him, as he also responded on that Sunday to accept Jesus in his heart. And that’s a mini-step in a long walk. You understand that? Say amen. And so, we’re walking with Art, and we’re becoming friends. I’ve spent a good deal of time with him, and I appreciate you so very much. And we’re praying for you, and we care very deeply. And there might be other needs in the church as well that I’m not aware of. It’s a delight to see my tiny friend in the back there, Doris. How many 90s have you got now? How many? 95.
I shouldn’t be so upset about my age then, should I, Doris? If I should be so spry as you. I’ve been to her house. Tom and I went and visited. She knew we were coming. She had coffee all set up. She had muffins. She’s an absolute joy. What a God-blessing you are to us. We love you, Doris.
So Heavenly Father, we pray for people that are hurting. Not all of them are present in this church, and not all of them belong to this church. We have a huge family of people that we love from coast to coast. And we thank you for all of them, and we pray that you would sustain them and bless them. And, Lord, many of us have experienced miracles, like outstanding, incredible, documented miracles, medical things that have happened, just glorious. And yet, Lord, we still struggle, and we go through difficult times.
Lord, may our faith be encouraged and strengthened. May we keep our eyes on Jesus, not on the problems. As long as you’re with us, Lord, we can make it through the fire, through the flood, through all of it, if you’re with me, Lord, I can make it. Thank you for the Word of God that sustains us. We thank you for that Word of God. In Jesus’ name, and everybody said, Amen.
So good to see all of you. At my age, it’s good to see anybody. Stop it, David.
Okay. So I’ve prepared a message this morning that I’m titling, Signs of His Coming. And I only have time to go through a few. There are many. There are many signatures pertaining to the coming of the Lord. And so I want to go through a few of them this morning.
What do we mean by the coming of the Lord? People get confused about the coming of the Lord. The Jewish people were looking for a Messiah, and they’ve never been able to embrace the fact that Jesus was their Jewish Messiah. And that’s another whole saga that we won’t spend time with this morning.
But they were troubled with him, and he just didn’t line up to their expectations. Jesus talked about when he would come for us, and I’ve taken great pains to share with you how the Jewish wedding is a beautiful picture of how Jesus is coming for us. We’re called his bride, he’s the groom.
And I’ve gone to great lengths to talk about what a beautiful picture it is, that when the groom finally comes, after a year of having been legally married but not consummated with her, for she was to stay with her mom and dad, well, he went to his father’s house to add a room just for her. That takes about a year. But when he came for her, all of his friends were coming with shouting and gladness.
It came in the middle of the night. She had no idea when he was to come. Some little birdie might have flown down and given her some inkling. But traditionally, she’s not supposed to know when he comes. But when he comes, he does not come to her house. He made such a noise and a shouting and carried on with trumpets and noise, she knows he’s there, and she runs out to greet him.
So the second coming of Jesus is not the same as the rapture. The rapture is what’s coming. The word rapture means to take away. Jesus is coming to rapture his church, and there’s ample scriptures to tell us that he’s coming just like a groom for his bride. He will come halfway. That’s my idea, halfway. And when we hear the trumpet sound and we hear the sound of his voice, those who are dead in Christ—I was thinking this morning that would be another church. We’re the living in Christ. But with the dead in Christ, they will go up first, and then we who are still alive and remain at that moment shall be transformed, and we will meet him, the word says, in the air, and it says, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
And then there’s the second coming, and that is when he comes to rescue Israel, who’s going to be desperately surrounded by its enemies. I know, I know, I know there’s peace. I know they’re talking about that, but the Word of God says there will be a time when people say, oh, peace, and then trouble begins to really unfold.
And I’ll touch on that just a little bit this morning. I’m only sharing with you this morning the word and indications of the fulfillment of the prophetic words. So we’re talking this morning primarily about the rapture, not about the second coming, the rapture when he’s coming for the church.
And that’s what we should be looking for. And I would that every preacher in Canada would every once in a while excite the people to say, he’s coming soon, he’s coming soon. And when the church is silent about that, that actually is, that’s a problem, because it says in the Word, he’s coming for those who look for him. If you’re not looking for him, he won’t come for you. I got three Amens. This is like an auction I’m winning. The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. That’s like, when I get excited, I shout. And they’ve actually got a limiter on me so that when I shout, I can’t go above 13 decibel.
It should not get to the place where you’ve got to turn down your hearing aid. But the Lord is coming with a shout, and I believe it’s out of excitement. He doesn’t have to shout to wake up the dead. His coming is going to be like a magnet, folks. We don’t need any more. When he comes, it’s glorious.
The transformation will be nothing short of incredible, and it’s going to happen in what the Word describes. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, will the world see it? No. We’ll just suddenly disappear. I staged with a group of young people—oh, my goodness, it was the early 70s in the great church in Toronto called the Queensway Cathedral—and we staged for the young people of Ontario. I was in charge of this. I called my friends, and I said, let’s do this.
Young people need to know he’s coming soon. And so I entitled that evening, The Great Escape. We had a crowd at the Queensway, and so we demonstrated what it will be like five minutes after Jesus comes for his church. I won’t bore you with the details, but so many young people at the end of that dramatic presentation gathered at the altar and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. So the church needs to be aware—pardon me, I’m a heavy drinker. I gave up smoking.
I smoked once outside a McDonald’s and pretty near choked to death, and I was cured. One cigarette—no, one draw. People said, you don’t know what you’re missing. I went, I know what I’m missing. And the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then there’s another verse. He who testifies to these things, Revelation 22, he who testifies these things says, surely I come quickly. Then the word comes, amen, which means yes. Then there’s a cry among us, even so come Lord Jesus.
Would you repeat that with me now, even so come Lord Jesus. So these are the verses, and there are many that speak of not the second coming, but the rapture of the church. So, some of the signs of the coming.
The first one is the obvious one, and I’ve been harping on this one for a while. The rebirth of a nation, Israel. It happened in 1948. Ezekiel 37, the prophet. This is what the Lord says. I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. Pause. Why did they go? Why did the Israelites go on a vacation all over the world? It was not a vacation. The Romans came in, and they were over the country of Israel. Israel is the modern name of Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. Jacob had his name transformed to be Israel. So don’t anybody tell you, Israel’s new.
It’s been around a long time. And the people of Israel were being crushed by the Roman army. And by the time we’re reading about the angelic song of, unto you is born this day in the city of David, the Romans had already been there—I’m going to be off by a few years—roughly 40, 50 years had already been there.
And all of Israel was looking for a Messiah. All of Israel was looking for a champion to come and set them free from the Romans. I dare to say that even when Jesus was walking and ministering throughout the area known as Galilee, Judea, Samaria, there were skirmishes going on at that time with the Romans, even at the time.
There were those who were fighting—it was kind of like commando style—attacking some Roman garrisons here, attacking another one there. That was actually going on. It was actually going on. Because the Jews were not content to allow the Romans to stay over them. So this was going on constantly. Then Jesus, in Matthew 12, prophesied about Jerusalem and said, this temple’s going to be torn down, there won’t be one stone left upon it.
Those stones weighed something like 30 tons. The stones are all still there. But he said, everyone will be taken down. That seemed totally unrealistic, but the Romans managed to do it. And when did that happen? Just about exactly 40 years after Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus prophesied it would happen, and it happened in 70 AD.
The Romans just got sick and tired of what the Jews were doing, fighting among them, so he said—I think it was Titus who said, I’ll fix them. If I tear down their temple, there goes their God. And there was some element of truth in that, because the temple was built as a place for the people to experience the presence of God. So the Romans knew how important the temple was. And I watched an amazing report, a commentary, a visible commentary. I don’t know who the actors were.
I don’t know how it was all done. But it was the taking of Jerusalem by the Romans. And you know, the last people fighting, trying to stop the Romans from taking down Israel, the last group were actually in the temple, fighting, saying, we’ve got to protect. They were willing to die. We can’t let this be lost, because if we lose the temple, we’ve lost God. Newsflash, they’d lost God way back in Ezekiel’s time when he said, the glory’s going to depart.
Israel, get right with God. The glory had already departed. 70 AD, people ran for their lives, and they went all over the world. A number of people stayed, probably in the thousands, but the majority spread all over the world. Persecution drove them to it. It’s called the diaspora. So they ended up all over Europe. They ended up over here. They ended up all over the world.
And who would ever have thought that they would come back to their land? Ezekiel, I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. April and I have watched this.
The 1967 war, of all things. We were renting the basement of a home in Montreal. I was there as a volunteer minister in an exciting ministry at the time, reaching out to the youth, the runaways in downtown Montreal. And we were staying in this house, and the man who owned the house, Fikri Gubriel—he was an Egyptian. I was very well aware of the troubles that were going on. All the Arab nations were attacking Israel.
He came down and knocked on the door and said, Brother David, you better come upstairs. You want to watch this. And so April and I went up and watched this television saga with these born-again Egyptians, and he said, Israel must win this! Israel must win this! And so they did, the 1967 war.
And that was another beginning of the people gathering as they’re fighting for freedom. But the Lord said, I will bring them home to their land. I will make them one nation in the land.
What is the land? Israel! Don’t get yourself all disturbed with all that’s going on in the United Nations. There is a place called Israel, and the Lord owns it, and the Lord gave it to Abram, Isaac, Jacob. That’s not political. That’s biblical, honey. That’s what’s in the Word of God. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel.
There will be one king over all of them, and they will never again be two nations to be divided into kingdoms. Ezekiel prophesied what you and I are seeing right now. Isaiah 6E6, who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? In other words, is there anything in this world that could cause a nation to be born in 24 hours? Shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed—this is Isaiah chapter 66.
He’s speaking historically now. He’s speaking as though it already happened. Because, you see, the Lord is not trapped by our alarm clock.
The Lord, without moving—can I use this word?—as though he had a physical being, physical eyes, the Lord sees eternity past and eternity future as all one moment. So the prophets often speak as though it already happened, because if God is planning it, as sure as he made little green apples, it’s gonna happen. And so Isaiah speaks as though it had already taken place.
He said, as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth—she gave birth to her children. 1948. 1948.
Then there’s another item, another sign of his coming, the scoffers. It occurred to me this morning as I was reviewing all of this to share with you this morning. The whole world is divided into two. There’s such a wave, a revival, not coming—it’s happening right now, and I hope I give myself enough time to finish this this morning and share with you. There’s a revival happening. But then there are the scoffers on every side.
Above all, Peter said, you must understand that in the last days, scoffers will come. Now, Peter is talking not to unbelievers. He’s talking to the Christians. So he said, you need to know this, that in the last days, you Christians are gonna be scoffed as they follow their own evil desires—the world, that is. The world will say, but not just the world, people within the so-called church. Where is this coming that he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. I’ve lived long enough to watch even within the denomination that we’re a part of, we’re getting soft, folks. We’re getting soft. I was invited by—this is on the side, but it’s on the same trail.
I was invited by the general superintendent of Canada to preach at a gathering of all the pastors of Canada in Toronto. He brought in Reinhardt Bonnke from Germany, and he invited me. So we were the two primary preachers, and my responsibility was to preach about the power of the Pentecostal Holy Ghost outpouring in his church.
And when I got through, they had set up for another salon, as they call it, in a hotel for questions and answers. And I got pommelled by young men. One of the men, the most outspoken, was the son of one of the great, great, great men of our denomination.
I hold him still to this day in the highest regard. His own son, who was pastoring a growing church in Oshawa, said, when can you tell me, where is this all—if you can show me where this is going on, then I’ll believe in it. It was like, if I can’t see it, if I can’t touch it, I don’t believe it.
Scoffers! Scoffers! Scoffers! We’re living in a day when the church is actually moving. The Anglican church split in half this week. Did you hear that? You say, well, that’s them. No, there is one church in the world, according to everybody. If you went out on the street and asked, where is the church? The intelligent person, the wise person would say, well, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, it’s worldwide, and you get all these columns. There’s trouble among the columns.
There’s trouble among all of the churches. And half of the Anglican church walked this week, saying, we’re not going to adopt—they’re not going to respond anymore to the Archbishop of Canterbury. That group that walked away, don’t—they’re scoffing at the second coming of Christ.
They’re scoffing at morality in the church. I had a man in the church when I was pastor in Vancouver, I might get thrown off the internet for saying, we’re being internetted right now, you know, but they don’t like us to say the truth. If I were to tell lies, they’d celebrate it.
I had a gentleman in our church who was working for—it doesn’t matter, he had reason by—on a Sunday morning, he had reason to be in an Anglican church. I say it out loud, because that’s what it was. And he said the thing that drove him crazy, he was sitting at the back, he said the whole service was boring, and at the end he said, two priests, men of them, walked down the aisle, stopped in the middle of the aisle, and embraced in an unholy mouth-to-mouth kiss forever.
He said, I felt like I was going to be sick, like the church has departed from the Word of God, the church. You say, well, not us. We’re just a small peanut in the big story. So there’s a scoffing of truth, and certainly there’s a scoffing and a non-recognition of the second coming of Jesus, a non-recognition of the rapture of the church. The church is not looking for Jesus. The church is not looking for him. Where is the promise of his coming? Ever since our ancestor died, everything goes on as it has been since the beginning of the creation. Who are the people who scoff the loudest? I don’t want to say they’re scoffers, but there’s trouble in Israel. And this is stuff that I picked up from the NRA in the last few hours.
This is Israel right now. Thirty-three percent of the people who live in Israel and have, you know, citizenship there—thirty-three percent—are in a group called the Helloni. Forgive me if I’m saying it wrong. They’re totally secular. They want nothing to do with religion. One-third of the whole country. Then there’s a majority—that’s 24 percent—and they are traditional. They would be like a lot of the churches in Canada. Do you go to church? Yes.Oh, what church do you go to? Well, it depends on which one’s putting on the Nicest Christmas program. Traditional. It’s kind of like in the United States.
This is incredible. The divide between the Republicans and the Democrats. How come you’re voting Democrat? My family always votes Democrat.
What if they’re rats? Does it matter? Who are you voting for? I’m voting for Trump. Why? Because my family—it’s a tradition. We always—and they hate each other! They hate each other. It’s traditional. So you have traditional Jews in Israel who would say, yes. Do you follow the Scriptures? Well, no, but, you know, I believe in it. And then you go on to 8.8 percent, and these people are religious. And they’re pretty normal people. They do all of the things, all of the feasts and so on. They celebrate them. But then you have the—they’re not extremists, but they’re ultra-orthodox. They’re called the Haredi.
And these are the people that really are looking for the Messiah. They’re not looking for Jesus to rapture the church. In fact, they’re not happy with the number of Christians that are rising up in Israel. You know, there’s some great churches there. A friend of mine is pastoring a church called the King of Kings, right downtown Jerusalem. You want to talk to somebody who knows Netanyahu personally? My buddy knows him. Like, this guy, he’s got a fantastic church. Went there years ago with a buddy, and together, they started a brand new church in downtown Jerusalem. And so, there is Christianity there.
But the Haredi would not appreciate them. So 15 percent, 15 percent between the religious and the ultra-orthodox, only 15 percent are still waiting for Jesus—not! They’re waiting for the Messiah. Newsflash! The day is going to come when every Jew in the whole world will have an opportunity to say, forgive us, we missed out. They’re going to embrace Jesus. There’s going to be a revival of Jews coming to Christ. Another newsflash.
It’s already begun in sprinkles right now in Israel. People are getting saved. Jewish young people are inquiring. Genesis 12, proof of Jesus is coming soon. God told Abraham, leave your country, your family, your father’s house for a land that I will show you. These are the promises that he made to the old boy. I’ll make you a great nation. Is Israel a great nation? It’s one of the smallest landmarks in the whole world, but they’re powerful. Read about it every day in the newspaper. It’s a great nation. Great military, great finances, and I think they’ve got a great president. Say amen or I’ll quit.
Thank you. He said, I will bless you. Abraham, I’m going to bless you. I’m going to bless you, Abraham. And as God blessed him, God blessed his whole family that went forward. I’ll make you famous. This is in English tradition. This is not King James language, but this is totally the implication. I’ll make you famous, Abraham. His name has been spoken all the time. Trump in 16. Say what you like about Trump. I know he’s got a potty mouth. I know he’s got to show me a good politician. Okay. I know he’s made some mistakes, but I’m going to tell you what God put him where he is right now. Listen to David. God put him there.
The word of God says, I put the men in charge. I put Kings in and I remove them. God put Trump in for such an hour as this, say, amen. The Lord is in charge. The Lord is in charge. Not your four leaf clover. I don’t care what star you are under. You know, your, your signs of the Zodiac. Dear God, get rid of that. That stuff’s trash. It doesn’t belong in your life. It does not belong. My life is ordered by the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m 80. Will I see 81? The Lord knows.
The Lord knows the way that I take. Hallelujah. I’m starting to get a little excited.
You’ll pardon that, but it’s okay. The limiter is working. I’m going to make you famous and all, and you will be a blessing. No, wait a minute. I will bless you and you will be a blessing. The blessing that God was imposing upon him becomes a blessing that is spread far and wide.
You are going to be the recipient of my blessing and the whole world is going to be blessed because of you. Pastor Dave, I don’t know that I’ve ever been blessed by him. Do you own a Bible? It came from Abraham’s seed.
Do you enjoy Sunday? It came from the Word of God. Do you know our entire judicial system, except the stupidity when they, no bail, or a bail and no jail, that’s not found in the Word of God. But our judicial system, our whole legal system, do you know where it’s based originally? Originally, the Word of God as God gave it to Moses.
The whole world is governed by the United Nations, although they’re trashing it. The whole United Nations was established upon biblical concepts and biblical truth. I will bless you, and the blessing I’m going to give to you is going to be a blessing that will touch the whole world.
I’ll bless you, and I will bless those who bless you, and I will give trouble to those who trouble you. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you. It’s happening.
I promised Abraham, I’ll bless you, and I’ll make you a blessing. And then this one I just have to deal with quickly. I have to move swiftly. The king of the north. This is a whole topic. I can’t go into it. I can’t delve in deeply. But Daniel 11, 15-35, Ezekiel 38 and 4 talks about a king in the north. If you take a compass point and you set it up in Jerusalem, and you look at what’s due north, you come to the city of Moscow.
You know who the king of the north is? Whoever will be the guy in Moscow, in Russia, when trouble erupts. Will it be Putin? It’s looking like. It’s looking like, and the Word of God talks about it in Daniel 11 and Ezekiel 38. Why would Russia attack Israel? It’s going to, as sure as you, it’s going to happen. And Russia’s not going to do it alone. He’s going to form a federation.
And those who are signing the Abraham Accord, I’ll make your name famous, the accord that Trump put in in 1620, and the guy with the mildew brain put it out once he won in 20. He put away the Abraham Accord. He had no use for it, and he turned all those Arabs off.
But as soon as Trump got back in, God bless his pointed head, he reignited the Abraham Accord. The Abraham Accord, it’s based on the promises of Abraham. Abraham’s name is bringing about peace in the Middle East. All these Arab fellows are signing up. But watch out, they will turn. Do you know why they’re signing up for the Abraham Accord? Oh, they want peace in Jerusalem. No, they want money. And in order to get money, there has to be peace. But when they don’t need the money, there won’t be peace.
And they’re going to turn on Israel. They’re going to turn on. And why? Because Russia’s going to lead them.
Why does Russia want to own Israel? Gold! Israel needs oil. Putin, he needs oil. Oil’s more valuable right now than gold. Oil’s more valuable than anything. People will kill a whole country to get oil. Russia’s going to do it. They have oil reserves. They have natural gas, incredible volumes of gas underneath the ground. Don’t tell that to Mr. Carney, he doesn’t like that. But Russia does, and they’re going to go after it. And what else? Minerals. I didn’t know this.
Israel’s wealth in sticks and stones includes large deposits of potash, bromine, magnesium, under the Dead Sea. Pardon me for a moment, but they’re not going to call it dead much longer. Have you heard about the Dead Sea? Life is being birthed in the Dead Sea.
Did you hear that? And the scientists are figuring out, trying to figure out, where’s the fresh water coming from? There are fish. There are all kinds of life now. It was dead. I went there with April, and there were people floating on their backs out on the Dead Sea. Did you go out? No, I haven’t. I was told by the doctor, stay away from salt. But there were people floating upside. You couldn’t sink in the water because of the salt, and nothing could live in it. But now there’s life coming in the Dead Sea. There’s a prophecy in that. We’ll leave it alone for right now. But underneath there is copper.
Now, the country is a major producer of bromine, magnesium, gas. Natural gas discoveries have transformed its energy prospects. It has reserves of gypsum clay, sand, potential deposits of precious stones and diamonds. Putin wants it, and he’s going to go after it. Signs of the times. When Israel is surrounded by all her enemies, Jesus will say, that’s enough. It’s just incredible. And then another promise. This is the one that just got me riveted.
I’m so excited about this. I almost said I’m going to wet my pants, but I’m not going to say that. But I am excited. Matthew 24, Jesus said, this gospel, this good news, this glorious message will be preached around the world. Let me start with not what’s up there, but let me tell you, I traveled to 37 countries. I was called a missionary evangelist. I traveled the world, and I saw this coming. At first, when God called me to go, I had the idea. I had to go and do large crusades, and I did. Thousands of people. It was wonderful. God did some wonderful things.
But then I realized, when I had so many invitations, this is stupid. Why am I the guy doing it? And I know there’s wonderful evangelists out there doing it, but the thing occurred to me. It was almost, to me, a signature of racism.
When the white man had to go from Canada to preach in places like Kenya, where they already speak glorious English, as does Uganda and Tanzania, to me, it was a racist thing that I had to go and do all the preaching. And God turned my heart around, and I started raising finances to finance preachers. And at one point, I was financing a hundred full-time evangelists in Ethiopia.
And a revival broke out, and it’s glorious, and it’s still happening to this day. But here’s what’s happening. Do you know one of the greatest missionary-sending countries in the whole world? It’s Korea.
This gospel’s being preached everywhere. Where are the Koreans going? They’re in downtown Toronto, honey. They consider Canada to be a mission field. The Koreans are going all over the world. God bless them and use them. The countries that we sent missionaries to are now sending—they are sending countries. But besides all of that, something’s happening on our side of the world. Under—U-N-E-R. I don’t type well at six in the morning.
Should be a D in there. Under—reported. Low report. You won’t read this in the L.A. Times. You won’t read this in the Toronto Star. You won’t read this in—you won’t hear this on the CBC. You won’t hear this. But people who are on the ground and are doing little broadcasts from wherever they are, here’s what they’re saying. I am going to wet my pants.
On a recent Wednesday night, a ministry that serves young people—listen, Charlie Kirk died. He was—it was a political assassination. The powers that be in America don’t want America to succeed, and they had him shot. I’m telling you, they’ll prove it someday. It’ll come out. And they thought they’d stifle him and stop him. Putting a bullet in him was a wrong thing to do. Now his ministry, it’s not expanding, it’s exploding. And now that explosion is happening, and people are focused on that. Other people are saying, well, it’s been going on for a little bit. Charlie just rode the crest of the wave. I had no idea.
This had been going on for four or five years. Watch this. On a recent Wednesday night, somebody wrote a ministry that serves young people. Hold the door. A ministry that serves young people. There are hundreds of these ministries that are going to campuses. Sher, well, they’re going to high schools. They’re going to colleges. They’re going wherever young people are. And they’re making a stir. And they’re saying, you don’t have to listen to the garbage that you’re being told you’re white elitist. You don’t have to sit in a classroom, they say, where the colonials destroyed everything.
You just need to focus on Jesus. And what’s happening with all of these groups? There’s hundreds of them. They’re not going in with politics. They’re not going in there to try and garner. They’re not going in there to sell something. They’re simply going in to talk about Jesus. And the response is unbelievable. On a recent Wednesday night, one of those ministries that serves young people arrived in an arena at the University of Kentucky. Thousands of students came, to praise the Lord.
Images and photos show hordes of young people engaging in praise and worship, with many coming forward to accept Jesus and getting baptized. An eyewitness account, so many kids come forward to confess sin, follow Jesus. We’re baptizing them well into the night, she said.
And it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. She said, it’s like unlike anything I’ve ever been bold enough to even pray for. But until recently, now I’m praying for it. She said, you can just see all over the stadium, huddles of young people, crying, praying, holding on to each other. This is so precious and brave. This is the opposite of safe sites.
This is the opposite of sending kids and getting their genitals removed. This is such a dark hour. But in this dark hour, there’s a glorious light shining.
There’s a glorious light. And who is God using? Oh, these worthless teenagers. They haven’t got the sense to put up an umbrella when it starts to rain. No, no, no, no. Nevermind the umbrella. They’re serving Jesus. God’s doing something. And nobody’s in charge. Hello? This is not a group that has a grand central place. USA, independent news. A spiritual awakening is taking hold on college campuses nationwide, as thousands of students gather for worship, prayer and baptisms. The movement, fueled by various campus ministries, has seen unprecedented attendance and commitments to faith.
Cale Matlock, a student at the University of Arkansas. See, it’s everywhere. Not everything is big in Texas. There’s big stuff sold elsewhere. The University of Arkansas described the experience as powerful. This witness said it was awesome just having 10,000 people all loving Jesus and worshiping God. I salvaged this picture because you know this guy is close to 100, Doris. You could still get, you could marry the guy. Like, look, no hair in his head.
He’s, and that’s probably his wife sitting beside him. But if you could see who this crowd is, it’s young people, it’s old people, and it doesn’t matter what songs they sing. Their songs are worship. Listen, listen, listen, listen. Their songs in these meetings are not about me, me. I’m going to serve you, Lord. I’m going to do this, Lord. Oh, I need this, Lord. Lord, I want to jump.
Lord, I want this. Their songs are Jesus, we love you, and we give our hearts to you. The songs are worship. We adore you. We love you. We worship you. That is true worship. When the song is about me, I want to do this, and I’m going to do that. That’s not worship. That’s about me. That’s about me. I love the worship where we sing, I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice to worship you. Oh, my soul, rejoice. Take joy, my King, in what you hear. Let me be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear. Oh, my, there’s the hat. Make America great again. These kids don’t care about politics.
They’re not clued into the financial whatever. When they say, I want America to be great again, they’re saying, I heard an old, old story of a mansion in glory. They’ve heard about revivals. Do you know how this church got started? A principal of a Bible college in Topeka, Kansas. God spoke to him. I don’t know if he had a big kite or if he probably came by train, and then he had to walk the distance, because they’re still trying to build a train for us here. But he arrived. He could have gone to Toronto. He could have gone to Windsor. He could have gone to Winnipeg. No. God sent him to Jordan.
What’s that? About 300 yards from here, he pitched a tent, and people from all over this area gathered, and they got saved and filled with the Spirit. That was 118, 119 years ago. This church has been here for 118 years. These young people heard about stories with these icons that God used, and some of these icons have some dust on their coats. Forget about that. I sat under the ministry of Catherine Kuhlman. Don’t spit on her. She was a godly woman. Do you want to hear about it? I saw a woman that was in a wheelchair.
These kids have heard stuff like this. I sat on the platform. Gary, I was in the front row on the platform. I was as close to Catherine Kuhlman as I am to that chair. And a woman, Catherine said, what have we got here? And a woman was wheeled across in a wheelchair, and she was stopped right in front of me. This lady was curled up like a pretzel.
Everything about her was gnarled. Her legs were up underneath her. She was totally, totally withered. And there was a lady that was pushing her. Catherine walked over and spoke to the lady pushing her. She said, this is your friend. Yes. How long have you known her? I forget. It was many, many years. And you are her caregiver. You push her around in this chair. Yes. And she said, you believe that Jesus can do something today here? Yes. I was there. I was there.
Catherine never touched that lady in the wheelchair. Catherine stepped back. To me, she was angelic. I don’t worship people like that. I had a chance to shake her hand. I backed away. I don’t worship people like that. She’s a shovel in the hands of the Lord, like a stick was in the hands of Moses. God used her, and I respect her for that. She never touched the lady. She simply stepped back. She put her hands toward the lady as though to try and minister somehow. And then I remember, she never closed her eyes. She looked up. And then all of a sudden, I saw her hands going up like this.
She just said, Jesus, Jesus. And in my peripheral vision, I saw something move. And I looked down. I looked down from where she was pointing, and this lady was moving. I was there, Siegfried. I saw her hands trembling like this. I saw her legs. I literally saw them transform. It wasn’t like she was just folded up like a paper kite. And no, no, no, no, no, no. I saw bones moving. I saw that woman changing before my eyes. I started screaming. Tears were running down my face. Dear Jesus, I saw it right there.
These kids have heard about this kind of stuff. Make it great again. Jesus, take the front row and center among us. Jesus, we need a visitation and it’s happening. These kids are calling on God. When my people, they are His people. You want me to finish the story, right? I’m sorry. Rabbit trails. Catherine said to the lady, Come on, honey. And she put out her hand like this, and the first time she touched her, took a hold of her hand. She said, Come on. This lady’s been folded up like this, like a pretzel, for how many years? You people who are medical, you can tell me.
She had no muscle, right? Sorry. She had muscle. She stood, and the lady was starstruck. She’s looking down. The lady pushing the wheelchair was beside—she was out of her mind. Can you imagine? It was like being in a picture show, but it’s an exciting one. This is not dark. This is not death. This is life. Then Catherine said, Come on, honey. Let’s go for a walk. Never touched her again. They walked across the stage. Then they walked back again. Catherine said to the lady in a wheelchair—the crowd was screaming, applauding.
The crowd went nuts. And Catherine again said to the lady, How long have you been pushing her in the chair? I don’t know if it was 25, 30 years ago. She said, You must get tired from doing that.
Why don’t you have a seat? The lady sat in the chair, and this so-called crippled lady, she said, I think you should return the favor. And the lady, who experienced a miracle, took a hold of the handles, and she walked across the stage back and forth. Scoffers will come.
I told a story like this to a Pentecostal crowd in a camp meeting in British Columbia on the island at a place called Nanaimo. I told this story, and a woman encountered me in the cafeteria. She said, You’re crazy.
I didn’t believe a word you said today. You were lying. I’ve never seen God doing miracles, and if I haven’t seen doing miracles, I got up that night. I got carried away. I was not in the spirit, Peter. I said, I’ll give a rat’s rear end what you believe. Jesus is alive. I was there, and you can’t tell me I wasn’t there. I saw it. I believe in Jesus, and these kids are saying, Don’t tell me. Show me. Are you okay? A rat’s rear end.
What kind of nonsense. Look at this. In the middle of the night, kids are gathering with candles, and they’re singing, I love you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And then this turning point started by Charles Kirk. College chapters. This also occurred to me. All these colleges are not U.S. only.
They’re in Britain. They’re in Korea. They’re wherever Charlie went. A chapter is not a political movement. Chapters are simply little groups that come together who want the turning point ministries to share with them. Here’s how to disciple new converts. Here’s how to worship Jesus. They have strict rules about not getting off to the left. Don’t go off to the right. Don’t look for dumb things. Just focus on Jesus, and they’re taught by Charlie Kirk’s concepts to follow the 900 campuses. Every one of them has a chapter.
And then high schoolers—maybe mostly U.S.—1,200 high schools have chapters. A chapter just comes together, studies the Word of God, prays, and talks about, How can we get the news out? And then, 62,000 chapters is the latest number. The turning point is struggling to keep up with the demand. I’ve been praying all my life for revival. I’ve been praying for all my days, Jesus, save our world. People are turning to drugs. People are turning to the most nonsensical things. It’s a dark place. We need Jesus to become the focal point of our country.
I’m sorry I don’t have anything to tell you about Canada. I just know we’re bankrupt. That’s all I know. Recent Christian prayer gatherings in London, England, include large events at Westminster Parliamentary Square and Trafalgar Square. Ever been to Trafalgar Square? It’s an amazing place. It’s just a famous intersection, several streets. Trafalgar Square, it’s famous. Pigeons live there by the thousands, and they whiten all the statues. Trafalgar Square, as well, an all-night prayer meeting in East London for young adults.
These events, organized by various Christian groups, drawing thousands of people for worship, prayer, and evangelism, with some reporting miracles. There’ll be others who say, well, I don’t—CNN would say, I don’t believe that. I don’t believe it. Scoffers and spiritual awakenings. Westminster Parliamentary Square. Are you getting bored? It’s okay. I’m quitting in a moment. A large gathering was held on June the 7th, this year, to pray for the nation. Thousands attended to proclaim the gospel and to pray for revival. Trafalgar Square, thousands of Christians gathered for Pentecost Sunday, June the 9th. Twickenham Stadium, a major prayer conference hosted by the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations. How’s that for a handle? Eighty thousand people came together.
East London, a multi-church event in East London drew over 2,000 young people for an all-night prayer and worship service. Can I drop a little dark bomb in the midst of this? England is now considered the capital, the zenith, the high point for instigating Sharia law. The mayors of a lot of your cities in England are now Muslim. Is that a terrible thing? No. People have a right to vote, but the next thing is Sharia law. I gotta stop.
I’m gonna get carried away there. Central London, a large crowd of Christians gathered for worship and public prayer, which have gone viral on social media. I checked this out. The mass media, you know, the big shots, ignoring it. They’re ignoring it entirely. They should be excited.
Young people aren’t on drugs. They’re praising Jesus. They’re not under a hedge making babies.
No, they’re praising Jesus. Parliamentary, outside the parliament, separate event outside the UK parliament focused on prayer for the nation and breaking the spirit of fear. Our country has young people who are afraid that things are changing so fast. They don’t know what to believe in. What used to be dark is now white. What used to be white is now dark. There’s mass confusion, and young people are afraid. They’re losing hope. They’ve given up ever hope in Canada of ever owning a house.
They’re giving up on the whole idea of marriage. They’re giving up on church. They’re giving up on everything, but there’s a revival coming, and it’s a spiritual revival. It’s a tsunami because God is causing an earthquake in the depths of our nations, in the depths of the mass of humanity. Jesus is up to something. I’ve got to finish. Earlier this year, the Bible Society of England reported a title. They call it the Quiet Revival. It found that young adults aging between 18 and 24, the group known as the Gen Z, the wasted group, the kids that don’t do anything proper.
It’s the Gen Z who are leading growth in church attendance. The churches are swelling with, hello, young people. And then lastly, Nicky Gumbel. I have the highest respect for him. He’s an Anglican. God bless him. And he attends a church called the Holy Trinity Brompton Anglican Church. Been there. He wrote the program, an outreach program called Alpha Course.
Millions of people have studied it. It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing where people come to know Jesus. The local church can have it. I had it in my church in Montreal. So Nicky Gumbel is a lawyer-turned-writer to help people to reach people with the gospel. Now he reports on his, wait for it, his Anglican church. You know, they sing songs, my mother makes better cookies than your mother. Okay? It’s how they function. Been there, done that. But he’s reporting that a turnout at the previous week’s 11: 30 Sunday service had been far greater than usual because at this time of year, it wouldn’t normally be completely full. But not only was the church completely full, but all the overflow rooms were completely full, and they virtually had to close the building because they just couldn’t hold everybody in. Nicky Gumbel, a born-again, spirit-filled Christian says, in our church in Holy Trinity Brompton, he’d say, sorry about yours.
We’re having a revival. He said, it’s quiet. He said, God’s doing it. So you have young people. They’re all excited. They’re dancing and saying, let them dance and let them celebrate. They’re doing it their way. Let them do it. And then you have the Holy Trinity Brompton. How about mother’s cookies? And they’re serving God their way. And then there’s the traditionals, and then there’s these, and then there’s that. I don’t care how it happens. I’m just so excited. I’m not in charge. And listen to David.
You have no right to vote on what God’s doing. And be careful what you say. When Jesus is up to something, you need to celebrate it. I wasn’t trashing you this morning. You know that, right? I get excited. And sometimes I think that my excitement and my exuberance is maybe seen as, I don’t know what, but I love you with all my heart.
And I’m so excited about what Jesus is doing. And I’ve gone over time, and there’s some excitement going on. I can hear Tom. I can hear Tommy’s growling all the way up here. So Lord, I thank you for your goodness. Oh Jesus, I’m so excited about what you’re doing in this world. It’s so exciting to be a part of it. We are such a small part of what you’re doing. We’re such a tiny little congregation sitting in the village of Vineland.
But Lord God, we are important in your sight. And we are experiencing a blessing because you promised it to Abraham. And we are the recipients. Thank you, Jesus, the most wonderful Jew that ever walked on the face of the earth. The God man, Christ Jesus, sitting at the right hand of the Father. And I’m sure anxious to come for his bride. We celebrate you, Lord. And we celebrate what you’re doing in our world. May we focus on the light.
May we focus on the joy. And may we smother the darkness with the light and the joy of the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
