Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
John’s metaphor was not lost on Andrew and his friend.
To them, Lamb meant sacrifice.
The shepherds around Bethlehem when Jesus was born raised hundreds and thousands of sheep
for that special time when people would offer their lambs as sacrifice.
They were to be without blemish a year old.
They were to be set apart for service.
