In Mark 7:31-37, we read about a miracle that Jesus performed for a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment. Jesus took him aside from the crowd, touched his ears and tongue, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” which means “Be opened!” And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. And the people who witnessed this were astonished and said, “He has done all things well.”

What does this mean for us today? It means that Jesus cares for us and our needs, no matter how big or small they are. He is not too busy or too distant to notice us and to help us. He is compassionate and merciful, and He wants to heal us and restore us. He is able to do more than we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).

It also means that Jesus deserves our praise and our trust. He is the Son of God, the Creator of all things, the Lord of all lords. He is the one who spoke the world into existence, who calmed the storm, who raised the dead, who died for our sins, and who rose again. He is the one who has done all things well, and He will continue to do so until He comes again. He is worthy of our worship, our obedience, our devotion, and our love. May we always say with gratitude and joy, “He has done all things well.”
