He Does All Things Well

Have you ever wondered why God allows certain things to happen in your life? Have you ever questioned His wisdom, His power, His love, or His goodness? Have you ever doubted His plan, His purpose, His promise, or His presence? If so, you are not alone. Many people struggle with these questions, especially when they face trials, troubles, or tragedies. Take a moment, take a step back and wonder at His handy-work.

You will find there is an answer to these questions. There is a truth that can comfort us, encourage us, and strengthen us in every situation. There is a declaration that can fill us with hope, joy, and peace in every circumstance. There is a testimony that can inspire us, challenge us, and motivate us in every season. That answer, that truth, that declaration, that testimony is this: He does all things well.

This is what the people said about Jesus after He healed a deaf and mute man in Mark 7:37. They were utterly astonished and said, “He has done all things well; He makes even those who are deaf hear, and those who are unable to talk, speak.” They recognized that Jesus was not only a miracle-worker, but also a master-artist. He was not only a healer, but also a creator. He was not only a Savior, but also a sovereign. He was not only a friend, but also a Lord. He did all things well.

And He still does. He does all things well in creation. He made the heavens and the earth and everything in them with wisdom and power. He sustains and governs all things by His word and will. He fills all things with beauty and glory. He reveals His invisible attributes through His visible works. He does all things well in creation.

He does all things well in redemption. He sent His Son to die for our sins and rise for our justification. He gave us His Spirit to regenerate our hearts and renew our minds. He forgives us our sins and heals our diseases. He redeems our lives from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion. He satisfies our desires with good things. He does all things well in redemption.

He does all things well in sanctification. He conforms us to the image of His Son and prepares us for His glory. He teaches us His truth and guides us in His way. He disciplines us for our good and comforts us in our pain. He strengthens us in our weakness and helps us in our temptation. He gives us grace for every need and peace for every trouble. He does all things well in sanctification.

He does all things well in glorification. He will come again to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes and take away every sorrow from our hearts. He will heal every wound from our bodies and remove every stain from our souls. He will give us a crown of life and a robe of righteousness He will welcome us into His presence and share with us His joy. He will do all things well in glorification.

So let us trust Him with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Let us acknowledge Him in all our ways and submit to Him in all our decisions. Let us praise Him with all our souls and bless Him with all our inmost being. Let us say with the people of old, “He does all things well.”
